Hi everyone,

This is a critical time for The Radical Reading Room—one of the few community-run freespaces left in San Francisco!

On April 15, 2025, we were six months behind ($2k x 6) on rent including May’s rent (we’re supposed to pay the rent for the next month on the 15th). We needed to raise $4k before May 1st which we successfully did! This was the first interim goal. $1,324.80 of the $4k was raised on Givebutter and the rest was raised on GoFundMe.

As of Sep 3 2025, we immediately need $11,440 ($11k + $440 payment processor fees) on top of what we’ve already raised. By Sep 15, we’ll need $2,080 ($2k + $80 fees) more on top of the $11,440. So we’ll only be in a good place when GoFundMe shows “$17,520 raised” (neglecting donations made after Sep 3 via other platforms) by Sep 15. Also, as can be gathered, the total goes up by $2,080 every 15th. So recurring donations are essential. You can use this page, Givebutter or even Venmo to set up ongoing contributions.
