Today you raised the final funds to meet the School District's needs to keep our pool open through June 30, 2027. Well done everyone! We will update this page and our website at HomerPoolLifeSavers.org in the next 24 hours, so please stay tuned. In the meantime, go enjoy the water in the pool and be proud to live in this amazing community.

Old text here so only read if really interested!
The School District planned to shut down the pool permanently after July 31, which would have meant no access for anyone—including school kids next year. In response, a dedicated group of Homer Pool LifeSavers stepped up and paid nearly $8,000 to keep the pool open until August 31, declaring their commitment to keep the pool from closing permanently. Now, there’s a real opportunity to keep the pool open through the coming school year, giving everyone time to craft a longer-term solution.

Here’s how the plan works: The School District has agreed to cover pool operations, including employees, maintenance and part of the utilities. Homer’s share is the remaining utilities– a sum of $59,873– and most of that has already been solved. The City of Homer will contribute $20,000, and the South Peninsula Hospital is generously contributing another $20,000. That leaves $19,873, and almost $8,000 has already been raised. Only $12,000 remains to be raised. Once we raise this, the School District has committed to us that the pool will remain open through June 30, 2027.

All donations go directly to the School District account and are tax deductible under IRS rules.

Please, donate what you can—whether it’s $500, $200, $50, $20, or even $10. Every bit helps, and being part of the solution matters. The Homer pool is as valuable as our hospital, keeping kids and mariners safe, and offering preventive care for the rest of us—helping us stay healthy, fit, and sane through dark and icy winters. It’s sink or swim time, so let’s keep swimming, Homer! Thank you!
