This is my Niece Samantha . She is only 19 years old, yet she carries a heart bigger and brighter than most adults. She is the kind of girl who lights up every room she walks into — sweet, kind, outgoing, and always putting others first. A straight-A student working toward her associate’s degree in science, and MRI Technician degree. Samantha dreams of entering the radiology field so she can help others during their hardest moments.
But now, Samantha is facing her own unimaginable battle.
Samantha’s journey started really in Feb 2025 when she noticed a huge lump on her neck. She did go to her pediatrician to get it check and was told it was nothing and to just watch it. They did no blood work, no real documentation, even said no lumps on neck in exam. It was only mentioned later in the notes that Samantha was worried about neck lump.
Then there was no indication anything was wrong until Sept 14 2025. Samantha woke with major low back pain. Over the next 3-4 days it migrated to hip and groin and she was in tears. As anyone would think maybe a pulled muscle so she went to the chiropractor. It gave a little relief but nothing much, she went a second time and it shot pain up to a 9/10 and she was in tears. The next appt they did an X-ray. The Chiropractor stated that a muscle relaxer may offer some relief but she needs to go to her primary. Also referred her to PT. Her primary being a pediatric doctor stated she did not prescribe those meds she needs to go to an adult doctor and gave her a referral.
Thank god we had a good new doctor. He looked at her and said “ I will give you the prescription, BUT I want to run some auto-immune blood work since there was no injury or cause for the pain other that a hard two days of intense walking”. He ran that and SNAP, LIFE WAS ALTERED in a second. We got the call and stated he wanted a CT scan because the blood work is showing Lymphoma traits. And that was it. That was on Nov 4th.
It is now full blown Stage 4 Double hit Lymphoma.
The adult Allina Oncologist who was kind and very educational is now transferring her back to Children’s hospitals. They treat this type in young 19 yo better than any he said. He was straight up and told us that if it was something someone else could handle better he would put us with them and he has.
Samantha has been running non-stop to doctors, testing, mri, pets scan, biopsies, heart doctors and radiation treatments.
Went from going to college and working 40+ hours a week to bed ridden.
From zero medications to 14 and counting. This has exhausted, overwhelmed and took a bright girl out. Everyday has been worse news than the last. We keep praying and hoping for a miracle and a day of good news. We still are. One WE believe will come.
We do thank God for Dr. Dandrea listening and Dr. Spoke for hearing the symptoms and reacting. Dr Harder for knowing his limits and true care for a cure.
Stage 4 Double Hit Lymphoma, is a highly aggressive and rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In an instant, her world shifted from textbooks and future plans to emergency scans, biopsies, doctors’ appointments, and the harsh reality of aggressive cancer treatment.
Instead of focusing on school, friends, and her future, Samantha is preparing for intensive chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and extensive hospital stays. The journey ahead will be long, painful, and emotionally overwhelming for her and her family.
Yet even in the face of all this, Samantha is fighting with incredible courage and grace. She deserves every chance to continue her education, chase her dreams, and live the bright, beautiful life that lies ahead of her.
We are asking for support to help ease the tremendous burden of medical bills, chemotherapy costs, radiation treatments, medications, extensive hospital stays, travel to specialists, and the loss of income during this difficult time. These expenses add up quickly, and no family should ever have to face them alone while their child is fighting for her life.
We are also asking for your prayers. We believe with all our hearts that our good Lord Jesus Christ is going to heal her, and that His strength, love, and mercy will guide Samantha through every step of this journey.
Every donation — no matter how small — provides hope, relief, and strength to Samantha and her family. And even if you cannot donate, your prayers, shares, and kind words mean more than you know.
Samantha has so much life left to live.
So many dreams left to follow.
So much love left to give.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with her during this fight. Your kindness, prayers, and support truly matter.
