UPDATE: We are having to move dad from Warm Springs (Insurance reasons). As it looks we will have him moved to Jackson Ga. We want the best care for dad but this is putting a toll on mama. Driving back and forth and still working. Please pray for our family thank you so much for all the support!

On January 30, 2025, our beloved Dad, Michael, suffered a fall that resulted in a broken hip. He was admitted to Piedmont Hospital North for a partial hip replacement. As many of you know, he has been battling stage 4 Parkinson's disease, which increases his risk for complications. Unfortunately, he aspirated during or after surgery, leading to pneumonia. Two days later, he had to be intubated due to his oxygen level dropping to the 60s, and he was placed on a ventilator for stabilization.

Over the following weeks, we saw small improvements as he began to wake up and respond to us. He underwent a tracheostomy and had a PEG feeding tube inserted. He was then moved to Warm Springs Specialty Hospital to begin weaning off the ventilator and begin respiratory, speech, physical, and occupational therapy. We were thrilled when, on February 24, he was taken off the ventilator and now requires only 28% oxygen through the Trach.

Our Mama, Sally, has been incredibly strong throughout this ordeal. Despite her own recent hospitalizations, she travels nearly two hours there and back during the week to be with him while still trying to work so she can keep up with the everyday bills and a mounting pile of medical expenses.

As we face this uncertain journey, we don't know how long Dad will be at Warm Springs—weeks or months. We're reaching out for support to help ease Mama's financial burden.
