Yesterday, a fire destroyed my home and I lost absolutely everything. As a single parent working two jobs, this has completely shattered us. All of my children’s belongings, their birth certificates, social security cards, and even the Christmas gifts I had already started buying for them — all gone. We lived in a four-bedroom apartment, which means we have to replace four full bedrooms worth of clothes, beds, furniture, school items, and essentials — plus my own things. But honestly, I’m only worried about my kids. They are heartbroken and traumatized. It killed me to look them in their eyes and tell them that everything they had is gone. We are starting from nothing. My kids now have only the clothes on their backs.

I’m asking my friends, family, and community for help during this devastating time. We need clothing, essentials, and financial assistance so I can secure a new apartment and rebuild our lives. With the holidays coming up, this is incredibly painful for them — and anything will help.
