Help Riley's Family Stay by Her Side
Donation protected
Riley is a spunky, kind and beautiful 20 month old who can light up any room with her smile. Riley has unexpectedly ran into some health problems which have put her in the pediatric ICU, the mother and father have been with her every step of the way and there is a long journey to Riley’s recovery. Riley also has two sisters who are staying with their grandparents for the time being who miss her very much. This is something no parent should have to watch their baby go through, even though the situation is rough life doesn’t stop out side of the hospital walls. This family could use as much support as they can get. To help this family keep up with daily expenses such as bills, gas and anything else we are asking that anyone who can to please donate so this family can stay by their daughter’s side at this time.
Below is the journey shared by her mother.
Riley started with a fever on 4/4 and by 4/6 started having febrile seizures. We went to brenners and were pushed off and told to go home and that if she had another one within 24 hours to come back, 2 hours later we were back and admitted. We spent a while trying to find the source of the fever and then we found it. It started with an abscess in her thoat that came back on a culture as MRSA, she was rushed into surgery because this abscess was sitting against her carotid artery and juglar vain and was large in size. During surgery they then found blood clots in her lungs and she went into respiratory failure. She is in the PICU and now has a chest tube draining the fluid from her right lung and so far we have drained over 600ml of fluid, as well as a drain in her neck from a separate abscess found in a CT. Riley is intabated as of right now to give her body the rest it needs to be able to recover from the past few days. Today we are doing our best to let her rest.
04/20 Last night they have found 3 more pockets that are needed. She is in surgery now to receive 2 more chest tubes to drain the pockets on the right side of her lungs. We are praying this could be the solution to the problem. This girl has been through so much and through it all she has remained strong and has not tried to give up once. She is breathing over her breathing tube and still showing her spunk through this. We are reading books to her and singing the itsy bitsy spider on repeat. Riley will show us all just how strong she is very soon, I just know it!
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the Prayers and the donations. Please do not stop praying for our baby because they are working. Riley has a village of people there for her and we are absolutely grateful.
