Help Me Rebuild My Pharmacy and Care for My Sick Mother in Gaza

My name is Islam Youssef, a 36-year-old pharmacist from the Gaza Strip.

From a young age, I worked tirelessly to complete my education, believing that serving my community was my purpose. After years of dedication, I proudly graduated in pharmacy with a GPA of 92.3. With hard work and determination, I managed to open my own pharmacy, where for two years I provided vital medicines and care to my community.

But then the war came.

My pharmacy was bombed and destroyed, wiping out my only source of income and the place where I helped so many people. Overnight, everything I had worked for was gone.

My personal life has been equally difficult. I am divorced, my father has passed away, and I have no breadwinner to support me. I live with my ailing mother, who suffers from chronic illness and requires constant treatment and care.

The situation in Gaza is catastrophic.

People are facing starvation, lack of clean water, destroyed homes, and severe shortages of medicine and basic supplies. Every day, I witness children going hungry, families suffering, and the sick unable to get the care they need. It is a life filled with fear, pain, and uncertainty.

Despite everything, I refuse to give up. My dream is to rebuild my pharmacy, not only to support myself and my mother but to serve my people, who desperately need access to medicines and healthcare during this crisis. A pharmacy in my area will be a lifeline for countless families who have nowhere else to turn.
