Please help my friend Rebuild After Escaping Years of Hidden Abuse.

My name is Diana. I am a U.S. Army veteran, a military spouse, and an active volunteer in veteran and community organizations. I am a life coach, but most importantly, I am a human being with a desire to help others. I do this because I believe in serving, protecting, and standing up for the vulnerable.

I have a dear friend whom I’ve known since 2020. She has spent over a decade trapped in a marriage marked by emotional, psychological, and financial abuse. Abuse that left no visible bruises but deeply scarred her spirit. She was controlled, isolated, and silenced. Even basic freedoms like leaving the house, using money, her immigration status or pursuing education were used as weapons against her.

On October 1, 2025, she found the courage to leave. She walked away with nothing. No car, no income, only her clothes and a fragile hope for freedom . She currently has a restraining order (until November 2025) and, for now, legal permission to remain in the home. But returning there means facing unbearable fear and a house that will soon have no electricity, no water, and no security. To make matters worse, he filed bankruptcy, and the home will soon be repossessed, leaving her with nowhere to go. For now, she is jumping from house to house within our circle of friends.

She is starting completely from zero: no savings, and no transportation, just us, her small circle of friends, doing everything we can. She is carrying deep trauma while trying to rebuild her life from the ashes.

Why I'm Sharing This

I am choosing not to share her name publicly for her safety. However, if you wish to understand more of her journey and the battle we have walked together, you may read the blog I’ve shared. I want this to be more than a fundraiser, I want this to raise awareness for the countless women living in silent prisons. I want to make a statement to every narcissist who thinks their victims will be suppressed forever.

Su Punto de Quiebre y su Valiente Huida

El 1 de octubre de 2025, hizo lo más valiente que ha hecho en su vida: se fue. Huyó con nada más que su ropa y una frágil esperanza de libertad.

Sin carro.

Sin ingresos.

Sin ahorros.

Solo valentía.

Actualmente tiene una orden de restricción hasta noviembre de 2025 y permiso legal temporal para permanecer en la casa. Pero volver allí significa regresar al miedo. En poco tiempo, la vivienda se quedará sin electricidad, sin agua y sin seguridad. Para empeorar la situación, él se declaró en bancarrota, y la casa será embargada —dejándola literalmente en la calle.

Por ahora, se desplaza entre casas de amigas, llevando consigo un profundo trauma mientras intenta reconstruir su vida desde cero.

Por Qué Comparto Esto
