Hello everyone!
My Name is Dirk and I am 31 years old. In 2020, I founded my aluminum guitar company with the goal of inspiring people and creating something I could be proud of. I proudly assert that we've achieved that. We've expanded our reach to over 40 countries, supplied our instruments to both small and renowned musicians, and grown our team.
Starting out in a small workshop in a residential area posed challenges – we couldn't operate a CNC machine due to neighbor complaints, and the learning curve for using the machine was steep. Consequently, we had to rely on local companies to mill our aluminum necks and guitar bodies, allowing us to proceed with the final stages of production.
Unfortunately, circumstances led to a significant setback. Transitioning to a new producer revealed that we had to pay almost sale prices for goods that were mostly pre-ordered and paid for. This put a massive dent in our finances, plunging me into a deep hole where my mental health suffered under the pressure of fulfilling orders, generating new ones, paying employees, and covering bills.
After a period of uncertainty, I managed to relocate the company and establish our own production, enabling us to operate economically again. However, the past year, marked by global crises, resulted in a slight dip in revenues.
I've experienced numerous burnouts in the past year alone, making it challenging to persevere. Yet, in the world of entrepreneurship, there's no pause, and giving up is not an option.
Through this campaign, I hope to breathe a little easier. I aim to shift away from the pre-order business model and compensate, at least a bit, for essentially working a year for free due to high production costs.
My aspiration is to have a few days a week where I'm not working 14-16 hours, allowing me to focus on my mental health. I understand that times are tough everywhere, so in advance, I extend my gratitude to anyone contributing even a small part.
It has been challenging for me to ask for help, especially as I don't want to give the impression that current orders won't be fulfilled. I want to emphasize that won't happen – we are committed to fulfilling every order. However, it takes a toll on me, both creatively and mentally, under the weight of current financial and existential pressures.
Asking for help has never been my strong suit; I've always found it easier to offer assistance. Yet, in this moment, I recognize the importance of reaching out. Your support not only helps sustain the business but also provides me with the strength to preserve my creativity and safeguard my mental well-being.
Thank you for considering and contributing to this journey. Your support means the world to me.
