Help Our Mother, Erica Voss, Battle Cancer

I am Renee Cloutier-Voss, daughter of Erick and Erica Voss. This is the most painful and most important thing I will ever write.

On Friday, March 18th my mom told me to come over after work, she had something she needed to share with me. I remember sitting on the couch hearing her say the words to me but not fully capable of understanding what was happening. She had colon cancer. I heard the word and my heart sank. I remember crying into her arms and as my youngest brother heard the news his cries for her broke me completely. We (my dad, my three brothers and myself) need her.

My mother was broken hearted from the news. We made her promise to fight for her life.

After the initial shock set in, we found out a week later that there was a second tumor and this one was in her kidney. This was even more terrible to hear as this meant more surgeries, more treatments and more time spent healing from all of these obstacles she will be going through. The news of your mom having cancer will never be anything but horrible. My mother is someone who always puts others first. She is our cheerleader, our life coach, our refuge and our best friend. She is loving, kind and compassionate. She deserves a happy and healthy life.

We are going to be by her side every step of the way. I'm asking for help because I know that even with all of our love, that just isn't enough to save our mom. There are numerous treatments, surgeries, medicines, and recovery expenses. Unfortunately, medical insurance won't cover many of these. If you've ever had a loved one go through what we're going through now, you know how hard it can be on a family emotionally and financially. Medical expenses in America are unrealistic, without financial help we won't be able to get her the treatments needed.

We may not be able to take away her physical pain, but to ease her financial stress will be a blessing my family cannot thank you enough for. Any donation helps immensely.
