Help Our Friend Stay in Canada
Donazione protetta
One of the hardest parts of being clergy is how many people reach out to you for help and you’re not able to meet all the needs.
In the past few years my relatively small Anglican (Episcopalian) church has welcomed and helped house several families new to Canada. We’ve supported countless people struggling with groceries, rent, medical bills (yes even with universal healthcare you can have medical bills).
My congregation (including those who join online) is extremely generous, but as we enter the Christmas season the needs are even greater.
One of our parishioners has been with us for two years. A young man studying in Canada and has worked several jobs to make ends meet but owes 7500 in tuition to finish a program he’s been doing very well in. It needs to be paid by Dec 31. He is a kind, hard working, faithful young man and I’d hate to see him have to return to India.
Our Outreach budget is already stretched and my discretionary account, out of which I can help people, doesn’t have enough in it.
If you would be able to help I’ve started a GoFundMe for this student. His birthday is Christmas Eve and I’d love to be able to gift him his tuition without having to deny the many others in our community who also need help at Christmas.
Bless you.
