Hi, we are Leopoldo or as others may know him as Leo's Children - Maria, Santiago, and Valeria- and we are starting this fundraiser on behalf of our dad, who is currently facing one of the most challenging times of his life. He was detained from his job yesterday, September 7th, and has now been deported today, September 8, back to Mexico.

As many others, he came to the US looking for a better life and an opportunity to support his family. From a young age he has always worked hard. He was the one to never take a day off from work. He was one of the hardest working man and father anyone can have. He always gave to others when others needed it without expecting anything in return. He always paid his taxes, lived honesty, had no criminal record besides just trying to go to another country to support and work for his family.

My mom, who has no family here in the US besides us, has always been a stay-at-home mom. She is struggling deeply with this news, especially after our dad being the provider, head of the household, and being depended on our dad. She has devoted her entire life to raising us, and now faces the heartbreak challenge of being separated from her husband. With no income of her own, she still wants to help her husband/our father from afar.

He is now in another country, in which he has not been back for over 20 years, and we are trying to raise funds to get him back on his feet. This way he can afford basic necessities, medication for his diabetes, and any legal help he may need. Every contribution will go directly towards making sure he is safe and has an opportunity to rebuild his life with strength, hope, and dignity.
