Our girl Olivia’s life changed in an instant after a horrific accident at a gas station. A woman who was being chased by a man with a firearm lost control of her vehicle and crashed directly into the gas pump where Olivia was standing after pumping her gas. The impact caused the gas pump to explode, igniting Olivia’s car into a full blaze within seconds. Olivia was just about to get into her car when the explosion happened, and she caught on fire. By the grace of God, she survived. The woman involved provided police with the suspect’s information, including his license plate number, and he was detained. While everyone else involved walked away with minor injuries, Olivia was the only person severely injured in the fire. Olivia sustained devastating second-degree burns over 8% of her body, including severe burns to her legs, feet, and left hand. Since the accident, she has undergone ReCell surgery and is currently unable to stand, walk, or use her left hand. She now faces an incredibly painful and emotional recovery process involving wound care, rehabilitation, medical appointments, medications, and around-the-clock care and support. Olivia is a hairstylist who does hair for a living. Because of her injuries — especially the damage to her left hand along with her inability to stand — she is currently unable to work or continue doing hair, leaving her without income during this already devastating time. In addition to the physical and emotional toll, Olivia must now travel 176 miles round-trip weekly for ongoing medical appointments, burn care, rehabilitation, and follow-up treatment. Although Olivia has medical insurance, it does not fully cover the extensive costs associated with her burn treatment, surgeries, wound care supplies, rehabilitation, transportation, medications, and recovery needs. The out-of-pocket expenses connected to her recovery have quickly become overwhelming for our family. We are asking for help with: • medical expenses • wound care supplies • rehabilitation and therapy • transportation to appointments • household and daily living needs • loss of income during recovery Anyone who knows Olivia knows she is hardworking, loving, talented, and full of life. Right now, she is fighting through unimaginable pain while trying to heal physically, emotionally, and mentally from this traumatic event. Every donation, prayer, and share means more to our family than words can express. Most importantly, we thank God that Olivia is still here. No amount is too small, and even if you are unable to donate, we ask that you please continue to pray for Olivia, share her story, and keep our family lifted during this incredibly difficult time. We truly believe that with God, prayer, love, and support, Olivia will make it through this journey one day at a time. Please continue to keep Olivia in your prayers as she begins this long road to healing and recovery.
