Help Nosi Get Back on Her Feet

Whenever you’re feeling down about life and thinking that everything is going downhill, you start thinking:

Does anybody pay attention?

Does anyone care? Does anyone hear?

After losing her parents, she was temporarily adopted to finish High School. She had no material possessions, no family. But her youth and tenacity were poking her courage to dream of a better life. Perhaps one day, she could even go to college!

She started her journey from South Africa four years ago as she stepped foot in the US, probably just like the hundreds, maybe thousands alike.

Her innate kind nature, hardworking personality, and genuine care for children helped her land a job as a live-in nanny. And she has been caring for children ever since, including our son. She has even started to believe that she can plan to enroll in Early Childhood Education.

But, she suddenly had to quit her job because she suffered a severe ankle injury requiring surgery. This is difficult for anyone, but it can be terrifying for her: She does not have insurance or Medicaid as she is not a US citizen. She is still waiting for her paperwork to be approved by immigration services.

While she has applied for a charity to cover some of her surgery and medical bills, it will not be enough to cover her rent and food expenses for the next 3-4 months.

Well, now you’ve met Nosi, a young woman who has worked hard to make a better life for herself in a new country.

Alright, why Nosi? Why anyone, for that matter?

Because we can make the world a better place by taking an action for one another with even a small generosity.
