Help Nicholas DeSouza Recover from Mountain Bike Accident

This GoFundMe has been set up to help my brother-in-law and brother like friend, Nicholas De Souza. He was critically injured doing one of his favorite things to do in a mountain biking accident outside Johannesburg, South Africa, last weekend.

He has sustained multiple life-threatening injuries, including a fracture to his spine that could leave him in a wheelchair for life along with a punctured/collapsed lung and many other breaks/ fractures to his ribs and chest.

He has been in the ICU with internal bleeding for days and will require multiple surgeries. Needless to say, for this family of four, finances are tight, and they are with very limited health insurance.

For all my international friends and mountain bike and off road riding enthusiasts : Especially my adrenaline junky friends. We have all been there and understand what he is going through. In South Africa, the public hospitals are not good, to say the least. The private hospitals, where Nick currently is, require payment to treat patients, so time is of the essence to get Nick the support he needs to heal and get back home to his wife (my sister) and his two boys (my nephews).

I know times are tough for all right now, and budgets are stretched thin. Those of you that know me, also know that I would never ask for financial help unless they truly needed it. I hope you will find it in your heart to help Nick, as he truly is one of the best people I know.
