Help new mom who lost job, car repossessed, getting evicted
Donazione protetta
I gave birth to my baby in May of this year. Shortly thereafter, my partner lost his job and our only source of income (I was let go from my job at 6 months pregnant). We had already been financially struggling, and this was a major blow that resulted in a repossession of our only vehicle. We have no savings, we were already living paycheck to paycheck.
In June we were forced to move back in with my mother in law, however she lives in a 55+ retirement community that does not allow anyone under the age of 19. Stupidly I was carrying my baby around outside, and I guess one of the neighbors saw and reported us because the community department reached out to us and said “the baby is not permitted to be here”, and we have to leave or they will evict my my mother in law.
My significant other has been trying desperately hard to get a job but this area of town is not walkable, jobs are limited, and without a car (my MIL doesn’t have a car either), it’s been really hard for him to find anything. He’s become super depressed, his mental health completely tanked, it’s affecting me. He had 3 interviews just this week and they all moved forward with someone else. I’m trying to find something remote I can do myself from home while I’m here with the baby, but so far I haven’t found anything (if anyone has any advice or knows of any openings please let me know).
My baby had to go to the ER a few weeks ago, and we had to walk 3 miles each way to the general hospital. It’s summertime here in AZ, I’m terrified of anything like that happening again. If there was an emergency they would have to air evac her to the children’s hospital downtown and I’d have no way of getting to her.
Right now we have no money for anything, we are running out of food. I am out of toothpaste, I have no way of getting more and I feel so gross. I’m super blessed our nice neighbor gave us a massive amount of diapers and wipes so we’re ok on that front for now, but I’m terrified for the future. I also have a medical bill I’m paying off that I’m $160 behind on and they keep trying to take it out automatically.
Anything helps, I really have no idea what to do. It’s hard to get a car or a place to live without income. I’m thinking of buying a car outright but probably need about $5-6k to get something safe enough to put my baby in. I do have the Dasher app so a working vehicle might be enough for us to do DoorDash and get into a low-income housing assistance program, and go from there.
Also if anyone could help me get a work from home job, that would be even better than any donation. I have phone sales experience if that helps.
Thank you
