Help needed for Richard after car accident
On the 26th of April 2021 while on the way to work Richard was in a serious car accident in Waterfall, KwaZulu Natal. Another vehicle swerved into him resulting in a head on collision. As he was injured upon impact one of his colleagues was able to pull him out of the burning vehicle.
We are so very thankful that he survived but did not manage to come out unscathed and subsequently broke both legs. We thank everyone who has helped and supported already during these times.
After working for a corporate company for 15 years, toward the end of last year, lock down forced his exit and he decided to branch out on his own and start a building and alterations company which was starting to pick up a bit until the accident.
Due to not being on medical aid any longer he had to go to RK Khan Hospital which was less than a pleasant experience, his surgeon however was amazing and continues to be.
Richard has had to have 2 surgeries on both legs and will need another 1 in about 2-3 months time. This has been a long and hard road with a few more months ahead.
- For those of you who don't know Richard, he is always the most welcoming and friendly person in the room, always putting a smile on your face, a hard worker and great dad.
- He loves spending time with his family and friends and would always be the first person to offer you any help if you were in need.
- Richard is the sole breadwinner of a wonderful family, wife, 3 young children and a couple pets :) and is now wheelchair bound for a few months while having to still work on his recovery once the final operation is done.
This whole ordeal has been a huge setback as his vehicle was a write off and most of his tools were stolen or damaged in the accident. Without being able to get back to work properly and walk there is a long recovery road ahead. The family could do with any help that anyone is able to give.
- Of course this has resulted in many expenses but currently their main concern is rent which is already in 2 months arrears, if they can just get rent covered for a few months to help take the financial strain off a bit it would really go a long way!
- If anyone is able to help with any amount or support it would be greatly appreciated.
As ever, thank you everyone for all the love and support that you have given the family so far ❤️
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEART!!
