Help my sister in her fight against cancer

Niki Lawless was first diagnosed with cancer at the age of 16. After a near leg amputation, the doctors were able to remove the bone cancer (osteosarcoma) and she was able to recover and return to a semi normal life. Unfortunately, with no parents and no money, she was unable to receive follow up care for her disease.
All the while Niki has worked hard, studied biology at The University of Texas at Austin and the University of Queensland, backpacked around the world, and developed countless friendships that have become her extended family. After being rediagnosed in 2014 and going through years of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, Niki’s friends and family were able to get her back on her feet again so that she could be self sufficient. She has spent the past two years so fortunate enough to be on a treatment that has allowed her to live her life and be considered “stable”.
Unfortunately, it’s now time for her network of friends and family to help her get back on her feet again!
This fund, for now, will be focused on helping Niki over her next hurdle. In August she will be undergoing an invasive surgery to remove a newly developed tumor not being controlled by her current treatment. This exploratory surgery will remove part of her diaphragm, two ribs, and possibly sections of her liver and lung where the cancer may have already spread. She is expecting a recovery time of about two to three months.
While Niki has been working full time for the past 4 years to pay for medical bills, travel from Austin to her specialized team of doctors in San Diego, and basic life expenses during her recovery; she will be forced to cut down on work hours to rest and be able to heal from her procedure.
We are accepting donations to help Niki pay for her health insurance, transportation, medical needs and prescriptions, as well as basic life expenses for her while she cannot work full time. Niki is determined to return to a normal life as soon as possible and is still planning to return to school for her first semester back this Fall to finish the degree that was interrupted by her cancer reoccurrence five years ago.
