The total cost, including surgery, recovery, and a safe place to stay during her treatment, will be around $30,000.

My mother is a refugee living in Malawi, which means she has no access to insurance or any financial support for her care. Everything must be paid for out of pocket. I’ve seen her sacrifice her own comfort her whole life just to make sure my brother and I could have one. She has always been the kind of woman who prays for others even while in pain, who gives everything even when she has nothing. But now, she’s the one who needs help.
