On June 27th 2025, my adorable husband, William, suffered a life threatening stroke that paralyzed half of his body and compromised his speech. His road to recovery will be long and difficult.
The stroke happened the morning after he had just come back from our family trip. I was still in London at the time with our daughter Sofia and our son Jacques, enjoying a lighthearted evening with friends. When he called me collapsed on our lawn, unable to move and slurring his words- everything changed in a second. Suddenly, my husband was being taken to the ER while I was half way across the world, struggling to find the quickest flight back to him. Doctors had 24 hours to save his life with an operation that would relieve the pressure caused by the bleed in his brain, and we are so grateful that it went well.
William is currently in the hospital and will soon be reaching the 6 week mark. The plan, now, is to move him to a rehab center until he’s strong enough to come home and continue his recovery. In just a month he’s regained his ability to speak and some movement in his left leg and arm. Although, doctors say a full recovery will take many months, and a significant amount of physical therapy.
William is already working hard to get to where he was before, and we are by his side surrounding him with love during his challenging healing process. He's already taken his first steps!
Unfortunately, bills are piling up, and with William unable to work for the foreseeable future, it will take him some time to get back to the business he’s spent the last 20 years building. We want to get him the best care possible, but once he’s home the nurses and physical therapists needed have to be paid for out of of pocket. Contributions would make a huge difference! Especially for my husband.
Your donation would go directly towards helping us with medical bills and supporting us during this difficult time.
No amount is too small; we all appreciate it so much!
Together we can get William back to his normal life :)
