I recently posted a few tiktoks hoping the community would band together to help my family but I've only managed to raise $50. My family is at the verge of having all of our necessities shut off and being evicted. We received a 48 hour termination notice from the electricity company 2 days ago. We live in the desert where the average temp is 85 and will be without any AC. We haven't been able to buy groceries in over 2 weeks so without electricity the little amount of food we have left will go bad.  Our rent was due 3 days ago but we only have 70 dollars, we live on Section 8 so this is especially crucial for us. If we can't manage to pay it by tomorrow we will be at risk for eviction. Even though there are laws in place due to covid to prevent this, it doesn't prevent housing from disqualifying us for any future assistance. We already pay majority of our rent since our landlords have decided to increase our payment 3 times during the pandemic (even though they also recently refinanced the house).  We also only have until the end of this week for mobile and internet which are 2 months past due as it is. We pay out of pocket for very necessary prescriptions for my mom and I, without them we would both go into withdrawals, mine causing me to become dangerously suicidal and my moms causing her to become so physically ill she can't go to work. Both of those payments are also due this Friday since that's when we get refills. I am currently in school to try and get a better job, but my classes are a 20 minute drive from where I live. The last class I had my car broke broke on the way back and the check engine light has been flashing ever since. It's our only car and our only means for transportation to work and school. We dont have any family that is willing to help us, the family we do have is aware of our situation but have decided that putting a down-payment on a $700,000 house and spending the last few days camping in a cabin on the lake is more important. The cost Ive listed to raise is the total cost of everything we need (not including food or the car) to pay by the end of this week. Any donation or even a share would mean the world.
