Help My Family Survive in Gaza

My name is Ola, and I consider myself lucky to have escaped Gaza after enduring 125 days of unimaginable suffering. But the story I urgently need to share is that of my family, who are still trapped amidst the relentless bombing, hunger, thirst, illness, and cold that haunt our homeland.

My family consists of ten members, each with their own dreams and aspirations, now overshadowed by the grim reality of war. My father, Darwish, is a retired man who dedicated his life to providing for us. My mother, Amal, has been the heart of our home, tirelessly caring for us through the years.

My eldest brother, Adel, holds a master’s degree in political science from Egypt, and his wife, Majdoline, is a lawyer. Adel got married just 14 days before the war began, but his joy was short-lived. They dream of having a warm little family. Abdulkareem, my other brother, has a master’s degree in mechatronics engineering from Russia, envisioning a future of innovation and progress.

Zaki, my brother with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, dreams of building a successful business that will support our family. Sondos, my sister, is a fifth-level medical student, aspiring to save lives and alleviate suffering.

Mustafa, another brother, is a university student in the College of Engineering and Information Technology, with dreams of contributing to technological advancements. Mahmoud, who completed his high school studies, hopes to enter university and pursue his passions.

Lastly, Yazan, my youngest brother at 15 years old, deserves a childhood free from the horrors of war.

My brother's desperate message paints a grim picture of their reality:

"We are ten individuals, desperate to escape the ongoing war and devastation in Gaza. Our lives have been torn apart by violence and destruction. With our homes damaged and our sources of livelihood destroyed, we are facing a dire situation. The lack of basic necessities has left us struggling to survive each day. Our only hope lies in leaving Gaza, but the cost of escape is beyond our means."

Funds raised will go towards facilitating their exit, arranging necessary documentation, and securing temporary accommodations. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in their lives and help them rebuild a sense of security and stability.
