This morning, my brother was at work and got a call from his girlfriend that her and my two year old nephew survived a tragic house fire. His family experienced something no one should ever have to go through. Everything in their home burned down completely and everything they owned was lost in the fire. Clothes, shoes, furniture, important documents, baby items, and every one of their personal belongings… all gone in a matter of minutes. Just one day after celebrating my nephew’s 2nd birthday, every single one of his brand-new gifts, toys, and clothes was destroyed. Fortunately, my nephew and my brothers girlfriend got out safely with their three dogs. Tragically, their two lizards didn’t survive, adding even more heartbreak to an already unbearable day.

If you know my brother you know he’s not the type to ask for help. So I am making this for him so he can get the help he deserves. He would give the shirt off his back for anyone. This young family is now starting from nothing. They have no clothing, no toiletries, no baby items, no identification, no furniture.. nothing but the clothes they were wearing when the fire happened. They are overwhelmed, shaken, and trying to process the reality of having to rebuild their lives from the ground up. We are asking for help to support them through this unimaginable time. Donations will go toward emergency clothing and shoes, baby necessities, replacing lost furniture and household essentials, temporary housing and basic living needs, replacing important documents and IDs, and beginning the long process of rebuilding a safe place to call home.
