On November 22nd, my brother’s life changed in an instant. He was in a devastating car accident after hitting black ice, causing his truck to slide out of control, tear through nearly an entire guardrail, and flip over. Both he and his friend were thrown from the windows as the truck rolled, and in the chaos, the vehicle struck my brother, leaving him with catastrophic injuries. Every bone in his left leg was broken, his femur required surgery, and he suffered multiple pelvic fractures, a lower back fracture, and lung contusions. While doctors are hopeful that the fractures and contusions will heal, his left leg had to be amputated below the knee, and he will eventually need a prosthetic.

My brother is a bright light—passionate, loving, and talented. He’s always been the kind of person who lifts up those around him, and we hope to see him return to that soon. The road ahead will be long and challenging, filled with medical appointments, rehabilitation, and the process of adapting to a prosthetic leg. The financial burden of these expenses is overwhelming, and our family is doing everything we can to support him as he begins this journey.
