My Name is Anwar – My Journey to Fatherhood
Hello, my name is Anwar. Since I was 10 years old, I have dreamed of one thing—to become a parent. While most kids my age were thinking about what they wanted to be when they grew up, I knew in my heart that my purpose was to love, nurture, and raise a child of my own. That dream has never faded, and for the past five years, I have been fighting with everything I have to make it a reality.
But this journey has not been easy. As a single gay man, I knew the road to fatherhood would be challenging, but I never expected the heartbreak that would come with it. I have given everything—selling homes, cars, and valuables, working tirelessly to fund this dream on my own. I have faced failed attempts, suffered several losses, and poured over £47,000 into this journey—most of my life savings—only to face yet another devastating setback, when after 2 years of trying and test my surrogate decided to walked away. Each time I thought I was getting closer, life dealt me another crushing blow. From car crashes, to loosing my business. But I was determined to make this work.
There have been moments when I’ve wanted to give up and all most have given up, when the pain of loss and disappointment felt unbearable, and the dream just kept distancing itself further away, But if there is one thing I know for certain, it’s that a parent never gives up on their child—even before they arrive. This is why I am here, humbly asking for help. Anyone who knows me, will know I never ask for help, I'm stubborn and determined, but I simply have two choices, give up or keep fighting.
Starting over feels overwhelming, but I refuse to let go of this dream. And this is why I'm asking for help, in donations, no matter how small, anything would help me rebuild and take another step toward bringing my child into the world. Every part of this journey will be documented, and has been from the begining, so you can be part of something truly special—the chance to help a stranger, a man, a want to be parent, who has wanted nothing more than to be a father.
I know some may not understand my journey or even agree with it, but at the heart of it all, every person deserves the opportunity to love and be a parent. Take a moment to look at your family and imagine not having that choice. Everyone deserves a chance at parenthood, and I am simply asking for mine.
If you can help in any way, from the bottom of my heart—thank you.
