Operation Fresh Start for a Hero’s Widow
The Update: We Made the News, But the Mission Isn't Over.
If you saw our story on Action News Jax, you know that Catherine’s home was a crisis point. My aunt is a two-time cancer survivor and the widow of a three-time Vietnam Veteran. After years of struggling alone, she is living in a home with no air conditioning, a failing roof, and unsanitary conditions that no human being, especially a hero’s family should endure.
Phase 1 is COMPLETE: Thanks to a small but mighty squad of volunteers, we have successfully gutted the interior and removed the hoarded debris. We have cleared the "blank slate." But here is the reality: Catherine currently has a house that she still should not live in.
Phase 2: The Final Push
We are now facing the "heavy lift" costs that muscle alone can't fix. To get Catherine safe, we must raise funds for:
• The Roof & HVAC: The Florida heat is here. Without a working AC and a sealed roof, the home will deteriorate again within weeks.
• Professional Sanitization: We need industrial-grade microbial cleaning to ensure the environment is safe for a cancer survivor.
• Structural Safety: Repairing the subfloors and caved in ceilings that were damaged from the failing roof.
• The "Fresh Start" Essentials: Replacing the appliances and furniture that were lost to the hoarding conditions.
How You Can Help:
Catherine’s husband served three tours in Vietnam to protect our freedoms. We are asking Jacksonville to help us protect his widow.
1. Donate: Every dollar goes directly to the contractors and materials needed for the roof and AC.
and share this page.
3. Amazon Wishlist: If you prefer to send a tangible item (bedding, pet gear, cleaning supplies), please visit our list here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3ALC00TZKFDIX?ref_=wl_share

We are so close to giving this hero’s widow her life back. Thank you for being the miracle Catherine has been praying for.
