Help Me Fundraise & Rebuild my House!

Hello, I'm Daniya Oda from Palestine, specifically Gaza. Despite my pursuit of Mechatronics Engineering, our lives were shattered by a devastating war that destroyed not just our dreams but also our homes. The conflict took the lives of my friends and left my family, consisting of nine members, homeless. Our two-story house was reduced to rubble, leaving us with no shelter but a small tent. The harsh reality is that my younger siblings struggle to endure the cold, and we face the challenge of affording necessities amidst the chaos of war.

In our makeshift tent, my family resides, along with my parents and four brothers. Mohand, aged 21, diligently pursues his studies in Industrial Electronics. Samer, at 18, once dreamed of becoming a basketball player, but the war crushed those aspirations. Ahmed, 14, dreams of becoming a doctor, yet the conflict has disrupted his education. Mohammed, aged 7, battles Down syndrome; the war not only took away his toys but also stole his right to a peaceful childhood.

In addition to my brothers, there are also my two sisters. Rania, 19, aspires to be a senior accountant, but the war has robbed her of her education. Raghad, 9, is devoted to her studies, yet her dreams and educational rights were shattered by the war, echoing the plight of countless children worldwide.

After years of toil and sweat, my father constructed our home. However, in an instant, the war consumed everything, reducing it to ashes and memories.

I live in the area of "Juhar al-Deek," where the Israeli occupation forces entered my neighborhood on foot in January 2024. They invaded homes, ransacked them, and set them ablaze, leaving behind only ashes, unfit for habitation. Rainwater seeps through the ceilings, adding to our woes. We have been displaced four times in this war, each time facing death up close until we found ourselves settling in a small tent in Rafah.

Our family friend residing in the Netherlands, who will be the recipient of the funds and will forward them to us, is eager to help us navigate through the challenging circumstances we face in the Gaza Strip. Given the devastation in Gaza, we are unable to receive the funds directly ourselves.

Our future is uncertain, and the dream of becoming an engineer seems distant due to financial constraints. Therefore, I appeal to your generosity to help us rebuild our home. Your contribution will not only shelter us but also restore hope for a better future.
