I decided to follow my heart as an adult and sign up for my first dance class after a significant loss showed me how short life is, and how important it is to pursue our dreams while we are here.

Once class led to several more drop-ins, sessionals, and performing which I never thought I'd do. Despite shaking and being nervous for weeks prior, I went onstage and performed with my dance tribe. Within a year and a half, and with the encouragement of the incredible women in this community, I opted to my first solo and prepared for it, all while things in my life were falling apart (a long-term relationship coming to an end, and moving into my own space, fully providing for myself and working two jobs at one point), along with struggling with alcoholism in attempt to cope with it all.

Sept 15th of 2025, I decided to get sober. I signed up for dance classes and missed several as a result of facing and working through all that led me to drink in the first place, but eventually, the rebirth came.

This last spring I performed my second solo, along with 4 other dances as a completely different woman. Stronger, happier, and healthier than ever before. I am so proud of myself for my resilience and determination to face and learn from every painful experience, and to not let life's challenges keep me down.

Not long ago, I was certain I'd never compete in dance... but little did I know my heart would have other plans for me, and my heart is my compass, so, here I go!

I have opted to do a competitive burlesque solo, and mixed genre group piece. Funds donated will cover classes, transportation, travel to another province, and performance outfits.

If it is on your heart to donate and help me fulfill my dreams, it would mean so much to me as doing so is espescially difficult on my own. Anything helps, and it will all add up to support me in this scary yet exciting adventure of following my bliss and not letting any fears hold me back!
