Help Matilda the Stray Kitten Heal: Support Her Leg Injury

Hi, I’m Fiona, and today (12/26/24) I found a brave, resilient kitten that I'm calling Matilda. She was meowing desperately and babying her left hind leg outside of a coffee shop on Detroit’s eastside, and I couldn’t leave her there. Matilda is hurt and her leg is infected and she has necrotic tissue, so I took her to Francis Animal Clinic in Detroit where I learned she needs medical treatment to fully recover.

Matilda is still under one year old, and despite her struggles, she’s already shown incredible strength and determination. Her demeanor is sweet and quiet, and she’s incredibly curious about her surroundings. All she wants is to be an active, playful young cat, and with your help, we can make sure she has that chance.

Her name, Matilda, means "strength" and "might," and she’s definitely a little fighter. I believe she deserves the chance to heal and grow into the loving companion she’s meant to be.

I'm raising funds to cover her medical treatment, including:

Anesthesia and surgery to help her leg heal properly

Antibiotics and medication for the infection

X-rays of the leg and hip

Vet visits and bandage changing

Vaccines

Blood tests

Stool test

Flea treatment and worm treatment if necessary
