Hey, pals! We (Frankie McNair, Elyce Phillips, Bec Petratis & Humdinger Studios) are making a chaotic competitive craft game show called Make It ‘Til You Make It!

WHAT THE HECK IS IT?

If Bake-Off and Art Attack both had a nervous breakdown, you’d get Make It ‘Til You Make It, our glitter-fuelled craft gameshow hosted by Frankie McNair. Each episode is a 45minute beautiful nightmare.

Two comedians face off in a chaotic battle of creativity, each armed with instructions from a ‘90s activity book…that have been heavily redacted. They have to follow the censored instructions to make a mystery craft they’ve never seen, trying to guess what it’s meant to be as they go.

Every 15 minutes our guests are attacked by mini-games, sabotage, and visits from The Craft Assistant (which is just Elyce in some whacky costume). After 30(ish) minutes of interrupted crafting, Frankie reveals the original example from the book and a mystery judge decides whose creation came closest. The winner is crowned and has their craft displayed on the Fridge Door of Pride, and the loser… I dunno, probably has their fingers glued together.

WE’VE GOT THE TEAM. WE’VE GOT THE SPACE. WE’VE GOT THE SHOW. Now all we need is a little help to build the set, grab some craft supplies, and make this thing happen!

WHY THE HECK WE NEED YOUR HELP

We are begging, borrowing, and DIY-ing our way through because we really believe in this show. This is a self-funded passion project. It’s just Frankie, Bec, and Elyce covering everything ourselves - materials, set, snacks, production. We want to make this show the best it can possibly be, so if you can donate anything at all, you’ll be helping to lighten the load and support three idiots making more independent comedy. Every dollar goes straight into helping us cover the cost of filming our episodes!

Here is roughly what each episode costs to make as a bare minimum baseline (not including crew pre/post/ production time)

Craft materials, set dressing & props for each episodes roughly: $300

Catering: $100

Paying our guests: $500

Total: $900

We are making this on an absolute budget. Anything more than this would go towards helping Humdinger cover the cost of our crew and our incredible editor, Simon. (And, look, if we went gangbusters, we could potentially pay ourselves for our time working on this, but that’s way down the line. Our priority is making funny shit.)
