If you have ever met my sister you would understand that she is a force to be reckoned with. Over a month my sister began to develop symptoms that she attributed to the flu. When these symptoms did not disappear, she sought medical help only to be told that it was nothing. After returning several times to the emergency room and countless appointments she was finally listened to. On March 9th, 2023 we received some news that turned our world upside down.

My sister Luz was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia which occurs when a bone marrow cell develops errors in its DNA. In other words Luz has cancer in the tissues that form her blood. The doctors have informed us that Luz will be under treatment for a long period. While we know Luz is strong, as her family we need her to be focused on solely her health.

The diagnosis has caused an incredible amount of stress, and uncertainty, and will undoubtedly also create a financial burden. If you can find it within your reach to donate or share, anything will help.
