My name is Lavonnyea Ali, and I am reaching out for help after the tragic loss of my oldest brother, Hasan Barksdale. Hasan was taken from us far too soon by a senseless act of violence. He was an incredible man who touched so many lives with his kindness, generosity, and love for his family and community. Hasan especially loved helping children, cooking for friends and family, and supporting me through my cancer treatment. His selflessness and compassion made him a pillar in our lives, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.

Unfortunately, we did not have any insurance for Hasan, and now I am faced with the overwhelming responsibility of arranging his funeral, which will take place on July 2, 2026. The costs are more than I can manage alone, and I am asking for support from anyone who can help. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward giving Hasan the dignified farewell he deserves.
