Dear Community, Family, and Friends,

I’m reaching out to share an exciting and deeply personal journey I’m undertaking: the launch of Jam Hands Family Therapy, my own private therapy practice. As a licensed associate therapist, I specialize in supporting individuals, couples, families, and children, particularly those with neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+ , and BIPOC identities. Whether they're struggling to navigate complex family dynamics, battling depression or anxiety, or just wanting to be seen for exactly who they are, my practice is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive space where all individuals and families can heal, grow, and thrive.

Why I Need Your Help

In WA state, there are just 210 licensed marriage and family therapists, covering a state of over 7.7 million people. In rural Port Townsend, we have limited resources to meet the needs of the community, especially for marginalized populations. By starting my own private practice, I aim to serve my local community with much needed access to mental health resources that ensures every person feels seen, heard, and valued in their identities. In order to do this, I need to cover some key start-up costs, including setting up a comfortable and welcoming office space, acquiring essential therapeutic tools, covering legal fees, marketing, and more.

I’ve carefully developed a business plan that outlines the values and strategies of my practice, and I’m eager to serve my community in a way that honors each person’s unique experience. By supporting this campaign, you are investing in a practice that seeks to uplift marginalized voices and promote emotional well-being for those often underserved in the mental health field.

About Me

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (#MG61606691), and I’m in the process of establishing an LLC for Jam Hands Family Therapy. I have years of experience working with families, children, couples, and individuals in various settings. My work draws on the principles of emotionally focused therapy (EFT), attachment theory, narrative therapy, and child-led play therapy to ensure that therapy is collaborative, strengths-based, and trauma-informed.

I am also enrolled in a Play Therapy certificate program that is the first step to becoming a Registered Play Therapist, which will further enhance the services I can offer to children and families. I will receive my certificate in March 2025, and become officially registered within the next few years.
