Help Lane’s parents with transportation
Donation protected
I created this to help my step-daughter and her fiancé get a car before their son Lane gets to go home from St. Jude’s.
Lane is a vibrant four year old with a vivid imagination. He loves to laugh and play and is such a joy to be around. His parents are Shelby Sides and Cody Weiss.
Lane’s journey with Lymphoma started at the end of summer/beginning of fall with a swollen lymph node in his groin. The doctor didn’t think it was cancer because Lane’s labs were always normal and watched it for a bit to see if it would shrink on its own. It didn’t shrink but grew larger so a biopsy was done. The news came back at the beginning of November-Cancer!!! The next step was an appointment to discuss the treatment plan and do follow-up labs. The labs were not so good this time and Lane was admitted to St. Jude’s in Peoria for treatment, where he has been ever since.
Lane has had quite a journey so far. He has been through two cycles of chemo, has had multiple procedures, has had both a PICC line and a port, and had a temporary feeding tube inserted through his nose because he was unable to eat or take medications. He was finally able to eat after about three weeks! Lane has also had to battle a secondary infection for several weeks. This little guy has been through so much already and it’s not over yet. Lane is looking at probably three or four more months in the hospital for treatment.
In the meantime, Lane’s parents have been unable to work due to being at the hospital round the clock and the unpredictability of what is happening day to day. Last week, Lane’s dad, Cody, went to run errands and pick up a few things they needed from home. The vehicle they were driving broke down on the interstate, leaving Cody stranded. They are in need of a decent vehicle before Lane is discharged from the hospital as there will be many follow-up appointments in Peoria.
Please help out if you can. Thanks in advance!
