Help Khava Overcome Medical Expenses
Donation protected
My name is Khava and I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. While the initial messaging sounded like it was going to be easy peasy, being on this journey has been overwhelming and a wee bit scary.
I’m lucky to have a strong support group, insurance, Washington Paid Family Leave, and a ridiculously optimistic baseline. I knew I was going to hit my deductible and my max out of pocket. I did not know what it would feel like to start getting the bills for all the tests and imaging. The first few bills were under $200 at a time, I had money in my HSA and I felt like I could do it. Then the $700 bill came, followed by a $1200, and this was just for the diagnostic tests to tell me I had breast cancer.
I would be eternally grateful for donations so I can meet my max out of pocket expense and make up for the small amount WPFL doesn’t provide while I recover from surgery and treatment.
