This is my niece, Khadijetou.
She lives with her family in Nouakchott, Mauritania.
This year, she graduated from university there with a degree in finance.
She was top of her class!
The world-renowned Sorbonne in Paris has accepted her for a master's degree program that lasts one year.
We are so thrilled for her.
However, the French visa process requires her to have about $10,000 set aside in a special blocked account to be able to get a visa and attend the Master's program.
It is something well beyond her means. But she is such a great woman and student and is the hope of her entire family. We want to try to get these funds together for her and get her the visa!
Here she is in her own words (French then Google translate in English):
Hello, my name is Khadijetou, I am 23 years old and I am a Mauritanian student. I worked hard to obtain my bachelor's degree this year and I was accepted to university in France through the Campus France program. However, the embassy is asking for a large sum of €7,380 to prove that I am able to support myself during my studies, which I do not have. My family does not have the financial means to support me, which is why I am turning to you to realize my dream of studying in France. I am passionate about my studies and I am determined to succeed. I have always dreamed of studying in France to benefit from the quality of teaching and research in this country. I am convinced that my studies in France will allow me to develop my skills and achieve my professional goals. The funds I raise will be used to pay for tuition and living expenses in France while I find something that will allow me to support myself financially. I am grateful for any donation, big or small, which will make a big difference and help me achieve my dream. Thank you for reading my story and considering my situation.
Please consider helping her with this worthy goal with any contribution at all. Her success will literally shape the trajectory of an entire family. We are so excited for her.
