My name is Joshua, and I’m a single dad working hard to rebuild my life after a difficult divorce. I lost my job and my car during that time, and without reliable transportation, it’s been nearly impossible to get steady work or visit my five children—three of whom I adopted—who live in Ogallala, Nebraska. I currently take on temp jobs through Labor Finders here in Iowa, but without a car, I can’t get to better opportunities or see my kids as often as I need to. Being away from them has been incredibly painful, and I’m determined to do everything I can to be present in their lives again.

The funds from this fundraiser will go directly toward purchasing a used car, covering insurance, registration, and making sure everything is legal and safe. Having a car will allow me to get back and forth to work, store groceries, and—most importantly—travel to Nebraska to see my kids. My goal is to get back into steady work, ideally in fieldwork or irrigation, and to be the father my children deserve. Every bit of support will help me get back on my feet, heal, and show my kids that their dad is still trying and hasn’t given up on them.
