Support Jordan Smith's Recovery After a Tragic Shooting

In the summer of 2023, the Smith family (Shavasha, Jordan, Scottie, Jalen, and Tyzaya) relocated from Hazlet, NJ, to the Atlanta area, filled with hope for a new chapter. Jordan, a beloved young man and standout athlete in football and basketball at Raritan High School, recently began his career as a Biomedical Technician with a home dialysis company, dedicating his life to helping others. But on September 27, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., tragedy struck during an adult basketball league game at Paradise Church of God in Christ in Forest Park, Georgia.

During the game, a senseless altercation escalated into violence. An opposing player shot Jordan and his teammates, leaving Jordan with five gunshot wounds and devastating injuries to his abdomen, groin, right leg, and arm. Thanks to the extraordinary skill of surgeons and medical staff, Jordan survived after extensive surgeries to remove half his stomach, the head of his pancreas, and his spleen, while reconstructing his bowel. After days in critical condition, Jordan now faces a long and challenging recovery, but his prognosis is hopeful.

For those who know Jordan, his passion for sports and his vibrant spirit make this tragedy even more heartbreaking. Just two weeks ago, Jordan and his girlfriend, Aliyah, moved into their new home, ready to build their future together. Now, the Smith family is grappling with overwhelming medical bills and the costs of Jordan’s extensive rehabilitation.

As a hardworking dialysis technician who has helped so many, Jordan now needs our help. Your donation, no matter the size, will provide critical support for his medical expenses, rehabilitation, and recovery journey. Every contribution brings Jordan closer to reclaiming his life. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign to help the Smith family through this unimaginable time.

As a long time family friend and mentor, I ask that you join me in supporting Jordan. The medical bills, rehabilitation, and recovery expenses far exceed the minimal insurance coverage Jordan has available to him. The funds will be used fully by him on his road to a normal life. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Brian Klatsky
