Help Nick’s Recovery from Racing Accident

I am starting this to help my son pay for medical bills from an accident he was in while racing at Maquoketa speedway. THIS IS FROM HIM… Alright folks buckle up this is gonna be a long one….

As I sit in the hospital with a back brace on because of the rollover that happened last night wether that be from a VERY unfavorable track to be driving on or whatever else I want you to think about this. I waited 20/25 minutes before and ambulance showed up because there wasn’t one at the track. There were ZERO ambulances in maquoketa at the time of the incident. The “EMS” truck didn’t have a flat board or a c collar. The best the could do was hold my head while I waited in pain on the track for the ambulance to come back from DAVENPORT. At one point they started farming the track as I laid there in pain and agony with broken vertebrae’s in my back and several broken ribs. Now don’t get me wrong, I know the risks we take when we do this. And that’s why I show up and put the work in to get the car ready every week. But as a racer we PAY every week to insure that the track and promotions has the necessary tools to help if and when this stuff happens. If a bar would’ve hit me or stabbed me, if i would’ve lost conciseness on the track there was literally nothing they could’ve done for me. To say I’m lucky is an understatement. And I thank god that I’m on the healing end and within 8-10 weeks I’ll be back to normal as of now. BUT this shit should’ve never happened IMO. As a racer and a friend I want to say thank you to all that loaded the car helped get the truck trailer etc home that night. I won’t forget that be safe out there boys!

He has been off work since the accident and medical bills are pulling up FAST!!

He currently has two broken vertebrae and four broken ribs. He’s in a back brace 24/7 for now.

He has a baby due in 17 days and is still off work. He will be off at least another 6/8 weeks.

I just want him to be able to relax and heal!

All the money raised will go straight to bills. I’m sure this amount won’t even touch what is stacking up in medical bills, but anything helps out!
