Help Jasmine With Her Kidney Disease

Hi, my name is Gary, and this is my Jasmine. She's been through a great deal in the ten years since I rescued her- starting with severe anemia in 2016, then into IBD, triaditis, and now Stage 4 kidney disease. Last month she started getting extremely sick, and my vet at the time did not discuss kidney disease despite two visits to the ER and many tests, and her creatinine being 240 (threshold for normal value is 200). The approach was still for her inflammatory bowel- she was throwing up every couple of days and losing weight despite trying every type of diet and steroids, which I now know can be kidney related. Three weeks later, she was rushed to the specialty hospital to see an internist, and her creatinine was over 800 on admission.

It was discussed whether she could even survive, but I chose to go ahead with treatment. After six days in the ICU with a nasogastric tube, IV fluids, meds and supplements, she came home last week! She is now stable and doing OK, but her quality of life is greatly diminished. She went from being a little fireball getting into everything to requiring constant care. She needs timed supplements, a phosphorus binder with meals 3x a day, appetite stimulant, anti-nausea meds, and subcutaneous fluids. I live alone, and am working extra hours to start paying down her vet bills. Just in the past 6 weeks, the total bills are around $16,000.00, and in addition her meds, supplements, special diet, and Sub Q supplies are a significant ongoing expense. She's the smartest, most engaging cat ever and I love her with all my heart. I'm reaching out in hopes of helping me continue to support her- she is only 10.5 years old and her twin sister Lexi would like her to be happy and healthy for a long time.
