I am starting an MFA program this summer, but before I can receive my financial aid, I need to pay off a student loan that is currently in default. This unexpected hurdle is standing in the way of my dream, and I am reaching out for help so I can begin my program on track. Over the years, I have dedicated myself to volunteering in my community, supporting local libraries, working with young people, and even helping others fundraise for their apartments, medical debt, and lost wages. Giving back has always been important to me, and now I find myself in need of support.
Paying off this student loan will allow me to become the first in my family to earn a graduate degree. My goal is to become a teacher and continue doing healing work for marginalized people, using what I learn in my MFA program to make a difference. This opportunity means so much to me, and I am determined to use it to help others as I move forward.
This support would mean everything to me. This is my dream program, and the work I hope to do beyond this program will be granted through community. Any contribution, no matter the size, brings me closer to my goal and helps me continue the cycle of giving and healing. Thank you for believing in me and for being part of my journey.
