Help good friend with medical costs

A good friend of mine from school whom I’ve known 25+ years needs help with medical bills after having eye surgery. He’s scheduled to have cataract surgery on both eyes here soon but can’t until deductibles are paid off.  He’s been with his job 27 years now and is on short term disability and won’t be cleared to go back to work until doctor approves it. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
