Help get the dogs of Detroit off of chains!

Tax deductible
The outdoor dogs of Detroit desperately need our help to get off of the heavy chains they often live on day in and day out throughout the spring and summer months.

You know when there's a community need, you know K9 Turbo Training and Second Chances Animal Resources love to jump in and help. --And with such a low cost per dog to do this, we couldn’t see any reason not to reach out to our amazing followers and family members to help.

The good news is that all it takes is $40 to replace one dog's heavy chain with a safe, light-weight, comfortable tie-out, which changes the world for a dog who currently lives on a chain. So we're on a mission and need your help to raise $2,000, which will help 50 dogs live safer, happier, more comfortable lives!

Your level of donation can cover the following for a dog in need:

$80 - The complete package to free TWO dogs from their chains!
$40 - Complete package to free ONE dog off of their chain!
$30 - Will cover a tie-out that will replace their heavy chain
$10 - Will pay for a martingale collar to hook their new tie-out to

Why does this happen and why should you help?

In the rescue world, there is often a thought that people without financial resources shouldn’t own pets. Sadly, that creates further divides and perpetuates the stigmas that put barriers between the dogs who need us the most and the resources that people need to help them. Because so often, these kinds of things develop due to lack of education as opposed to neglect.

- So that brings us to chains-

Chains are a very common tool that people use to contain dogs in their yards, especially in the city of Detroit. Unfortunately, chains weigh dogs down, prohibit them from moving freely, and can easily become tangled and cause them physical and physiological damage.

Who is helping?
Dog Aide, a group who is near and dear to our hears, believes in working with people as opposed to against them to solve these kinds of systemic problems. They partner with dog owners in our city to help them better care for their pets and access education that is so often denied to them.

And they've got a stack of dog owners have received tons of education and are more than ready to provide their dogs with a better, safer alternative. The problem is-- these citizens have massive financial barriers that prohibit them from accessing these kinds of alternatives.

So today, we ask you to help them with a tie-out and collar so those heavy chains can be disposed of and they can enjoy their spring and summer freedom.

So when they need help to meet a need, we answer.

If you can help, we welcome you to do so. It’s an amazing cause and is a great way to support the community. If you can’t, please share. We’re going to need to spread this far and wide!
