The next step in my progress at getting my life back from my diagnosis.
I'm Krissie, and at 36 my life has changed completely. From an active runner and hiker, to battling with a heart condition for it to not take over my life. I need your help!
As most of you are now aware, a couple of weeks ago I was diagnosed with Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia (PSVT).
PSVT is affecting my ability to live a normal life and go to work. Fatigue and sickness have become almost a daily problem, along with some weird half yawning episodes (Very strange if you get to witness them). Being Paroxysmal, I have good days and bad, some days you wouldn't notice there was anything wrong, other days I can barely do normal everyday tasks. I've been given the okay to try and get some exercise back into my life if I can manage it. This is still a huge struggle, but on my good days I'm trying to get some in which is a nice relief at last.
The treatment for PSVT is ablation surgery, burning the nerves away which are causing my heart to add extra beats and beat faster. This on the NHS is not considered particularly urgent and I would be on the waiting list for about a year before I could have it. This is obviously just not feasible, one for my sanity, but two I would go on to half pay in August for work. Also, I really don't fancy staying like this for another year or so. So private surgery is my only reasonable option.
I've got my surgery booked in on the 22nd July and the day cannot come soon enough. It is likely to cost between £12-13k. This is obviously a huge amount of money, so once again I'm appealing to peoples generosity to help with some of the costs.
Any help would be so appreciated and I hope this is a step to me getting back to living my life again.
