As many of you know, I was able to serve as a nurse with Mercy Ships this summer, and I absolutely loved it! God allowed me to see what is possible when my love of nursing and my desire to serve God in obedience merge: miracles, adventure, challenges, and a growing love for God and his people. So naturally, I desire to go back…

Mercy Ships’ motto is to bring hope and healing after the 2000 year old model of Jesus. We provide free surgeries and rehabilitation for people that come from all around the country. Many of these people have been unable to work or provide for their families, and even ostracized by their communities. But, with the care that Mercy Ships provides, I was able to see confidence increase, people able to smile again, kids able to walk again, and hope restored.

I’ll once again be heading for the Africa Mercy in Madagascar this coming February! The plan, God willing, is to be there until December, living, working, and communing with people on the ship and with the people of Toamasina. The work is volunteer-based with Mercy Ships providing room, board, and meals.

My desire is to share with you this thing that God is doing. I want you to share in the joy of how God is using me. Our unified rejoicing and glorification of God is enough. I trust that when God leads us, He also provides. However, I do not want to deny the blessing of giving and being given to. The money will be used for general small living expenses and flights to come home mid-service (to see my adorable new nephew! ...and others). Know that whatever is offered from you, whether prayers, thanksgiving, or $5, is offered in praise to God! So we'll praise Him together!
Thank you all, and I so look forward to updating you from aboard the Mercy Ships!
