After a long and courageous battle with brain cancer, Doug Wangelin went to his heavenly home on December 15, 2025, leaving behind his loving family: his wife Regina and their five children—Eli (22, with his wife Rose), Sam (21), Kim (16), Alex (12), and Aaron (10). Doug was a devoted husband, father, and provider, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him. Regina has been a full-time caregiver to Doug over the past year, while also homeschooling their youngest two boys. The family is now facing the difficult challenge of moving forward without Doug’s presence and support.

Doug’s passing has created significant financial needs for his family. After leaving his job of 12 years at Waupaca Foundry due to his diagnosis, Doug no longer had life insurance. The family is now responsible for funeral expenses, ongoing living costs, and planning for the children’s future, including setting aside some funds for their future education.
