Help for Raime and her Grandchildren
Doação protegida
Our dear friend Raime Campbell is a longtime member of the Berner community breeding under the Blue Mountain kennel name. Many of you will find dogs Raime owned or bred if you look back in your pedigrees. She worked as a vet tech for many years and has always been an advocate for our breed and a generous friend for anyone that needed help, never asking anything in return. Due to some heartbreaking circumstances, Raime could now use our help.
Raime moved back home to Boise a few ago to be nearby to help her aging parents and her only child, Kayleen, who was starting a family of her own. Raime lived with Kayleen and her husband, Brady, for quite some time after the birth of their first child, Winter Amelia, who is now three and a half years old. Last year, Raime moved in with her parents to continue to help them and Kayleen and Brady bought their first home not too far away.
Raime works four days a week as a medical assistant and spent nearly every Friday with Kayleen and Winter. Raime and Kayleen were as close as any mother and daughter can be.
Everything was going great for this beautiful young family and proud Grandma when Ashton Brett was born on August 31st. Ashton’s birth did not go as planned and Kayleen suffered from an aortic dissection shortly thereafter, a common complication from Marfan’s syndrome.
Only a few short weeks after welcoming her new Grandson, Raime had to do the unimaginable and say goodbye to her only child.
Kayleen Ann Miller was laid to rest yesterday and today Raime is beginning a new chapter in her life. She never imagined losing her daughter and going from being a Grandmother to being the mother of a toddler and newborn overnight, but Raime is committed to raising Winter and Ashton to be amazing people, just as she did with her beloved Kayleen.
To say their world has been turned upside down is an understatement. They are facing huge medical bills from Kayleen’s heart surgery and ICU hospitalization, burial expenses and now the cost of raising two young children.
Brady’s employment was affected due to COVID so he has recently only been able to find work with DoorDash. Raime will take some time off to heal and to figure out what her new normal in life will be, sharing custody and co-parenting two young children.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
