My name is James Mohr and I am the author of several computer books and dozens of articles. I am also the administrator and primary writer for two computer-related websites (see below). I am also currently in the process of writing a new book.
Last year, I was in the clinic for what was essentially a classic case of "burn-out" and was getting treatment for very high blood pressure and other related symptoms. In the clinic, I had the privilege of getting to know a young woman named Lena. She suffered through an abusive relationship, and was bullied by people in school, neighbors and relatives. Despite a tested IQ of 120, she was repeatedly told she was "dumb", which led to a great many unjustified self-doubts concerning her abilities.
I had the privilege of watching her grow from constantly staring at her shoes to avoid eye contact to becoming more and more self-confident. While I am extremely proud of how much she accomplished, sadly she has not reached the end of her journey, but she has still repeatedly proven herself to be both a very strong and courageous young woman.
In the clinic, our friendship grew to the point where she called me her "psycho grandpa" and I called her my "psycho grand-daughter." After leaving the clinic, we stayed in contact and I have met her mother and sisters a couple of times.
Because of what she went through, she has severe social anxiety which causes her problems both in school and employment. Currently, Lena is in a rehab to address her issues and prepare herself for further education, but she still suffers from social anxiety, so it isn't easy for her. One issue is that although her stay is paid for, but it covers nothing beyond room and board. That means she has to get things like hygiene products and laundry detergent on her own, which itself is not a bad thing. However, due to her financial situation, she recently had to resort to washing clothes in the sink and drying them on the radiator. That was too much for me and I decided I should I help.
This is the reason I am appealing to you. I have set up a Go Fund Me campaign to help provide her something to take care of daily needs, like hygiene and cleaning products, or any of the small things she needs regularly.
I have an account at my bank with regular transfer to Lena's account. I will provide frequent updates on the status of donations as well as the current balance of donations both still in the Go Fund Me system and in the bank account.
I am naturally going to mention every sponsor on the "Thanks to" page in my upcoming book and maybe even use your name in one of the examples.

Letztes Jahr war ich wegen eines im klassischen „Burn-out“-Falls in der Klinik und wurde wegen sehr hohem Blutdruck und anderen damit verbundenen Symptomen behandelt. In der Klinik hatte ich das Privileg, eine junge Frau namens Lena kennenzulernen. Sie litt unter Missbrauch in einer Beziehung und wurde von Mitschülern, Nachbarn und Verwandten gemobbt. Trotz eines getesteten IQ von 120 wurde ihr immer wieder gesagt, sie sei „dumm“, was zu vielen ungerechtfertigten Selbstzweifeln an ihren Fähigkeiten führte.
Ich hatte das Privileg, ihr dabei zuzusehen, wie sie von einem ständigen Blick auf ihre Schuhe, um Augenkontakt zu vermeiden, immer selbstbewusster wurde. Obwohl ich sehr stolz darauf bin, wie viel sie erreicht hat, ist sie leider noch nicht am Ende ihrer Reise angelangt, aber sie hat sich dennoch als eine sehr starke und mutige junge Frau mehrmals erwiesen.
In der Klinik wuchs unsere Freundschaft so weit, dass sie mich ihren „Psycho-Opa“ und ich sie meine „Psycho-Enkelin“ nannte. Nachdem wir die Klinik verlassen hatten, blieben wir in Kontakt und ich habe ihre Mutter und ihre Schwestern ein paar Mal getroffen.
Aufgrund dessen, was sie durchgemacht hat, leidet sie unter starken sozialen Ängsten, die zu Problemen sowohl in der Schule als auch am Arbeitsplatz führen. Derzeit befindet sich Lena in einer Reha, um sich mit ihren Problemen zu befassen und sich auf die weitere Ausbildung vorzubereiten. Da sie jedoch immer noch unter sozialen Ängsten leidet, ist es für sie nicht einfach. Ein Problem besteht darin, dass ihr Aufenthalt zwar bezahlt ist, dieser aber außer Unterkunft und Verpflegung nichts abdeckt. Das bedeutet, dass sie sich Dinge wie Hygieneartikel und Waschmittel selbst besorgen muss, was an sich keine schlechte Sache ist. Aufgrund ihrer finanziellen Situation musste sie jedoch kürzlich darauf zurückgreifen, ihre Wäsche im Waschbecken zu waschen und auf der Heizung zu trocknen. Das war zu viel für mich und ich beschloss, dass ich helfen sollte.
Aus diesem Grund appelliere ich an Sie. Ich habe eine „Go Fund Me“-Kampagne ins Leben gerufen, um ihr dabei zu helfen, ihren täglichen Bedarf zu decken, etwa Hygiene- und Reinigungsmittel oder andere kleine Dinge, die sie regelmäßig braucht.
Ich habe bei meiner Bank ein Konto mit regelmäßiger Überweisung auf Lenas Konto. Ich werde regelmäßig über den Status der Spenden sowie den aktuellen Spendensaldo sowohl im Go Fund Me-System als auch auf dem Bankkonto informieren.
Natürlich werde ich jeden Sponsor auf der „Danke an“-Seite in meinem kommenden Buch erwähnen und vielleicht sogar Ihren Namen in einem der Beispiele verwenden.
