Help Edgar Martinez's Family Rebuild After Fire

Hello my name is Edgar Martinez and my family and I recently suffered from a house fire. The tragic event happened to us on July 27, 2024, we received a call from my mother informing us that our home was in flames. We rushed back to our home to see that the house we had worked so hard to get was gone. Firefighters and police were on the sense when we arrived, and our pets were the last thing the firefighters were able to rescue. My dog (toto) was able to run out the door once the fire started with the help from my mom who was thankfully outside when this all happened. My 1 year on kitten (Daysi) unfortunately was not so lucky and was not able to escape immediately. We had to wait till the firefighters put out the fire and only then was she found, thankfully no one else was home that day.

Our whole living room, dining room, and kitchen were destroy, our basement has floods due to the work and the wood has begun to cave in, our clothes smell like smoke and we were only able to save a few belongings. We are a family of 12 all living under the same roof. 4 brothers, 1 sister, my mother, 1 dog, 1 kitten, my brother’s girlfriend and their 2 kids and myself. This event has left us all at a loss and some of my family members worse than others. We worked very hard over the years for what we had and to achieve the American dream of buying our first home, and to see if all gone in a matter of minutes has no words to describe the feeling. It has left some us numb and others saddened from this event, but at the end we are thankful we still have each other to lean on.

They have informed us it will be about a year before we are able to step foot in our home again. My family is very thankful for the support and if any dollar amount is given, it will truly help. Know any donation/s will go throwers my niece and nephew, my mother and little brother insuring they have everything they need first. No dollar will be spent on unnecessary items, and we will make it all count.
