URGENT: Help DeSoto Students Stay Fed and Graduate
Although today, May 13, 2025, is the deadline set by DeSoto County Schools to stop allowing students to charge breakfast and lunch with a negative balance, the impact of this policy will continue to affect our children beyond this date.
The district is facing over $32,000 in unpaid meal charges—and that debt doesn’t just mean hungry kids. It could prevent some students from receiving report cards, participating in end-of-year activities, or even graduating.
No child should go hungry or be held back because of lunch debt.
We’re asking our community to rally together. This GoFundMe campaign is raising money to help clear these balances and ensure no student is penalized for circumstances beyond their control.
All donations will go directly to the DeSoto County School District Nutrition Program.
Channel 3 News has also chosen to cover this story—this is our moment to make a difference.
Every dollar helps feed a child and restore their future.
